United Nations Information Centre-Dar es Salaam (UNIC),in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute Tanzania (Roots and Shoots), the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC),World Conference on Religions for Peace(WCRP), Right to Play ,United Nations Clubs Tanzanian Network(UNCTN), United Nations Association (UNA), EMIMA, Bahai Faith and Temeke Youth Development Network (TAYODEN) cordially invites the media to the commemoration to mark the 2009 International Day of Peace to be held on Friday, 18th September 2009 at Mnazi Mmoja grounds at 9:00 AM.
The commemoration will be coloured by a procession starting from Jangwani grounds to Mnazi Mmoja grounds( 0830AM-0900AM); an exhibition; traditional performances; prayers from Moslems, Christians and Bahai; statement from youths and speeches from the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the UN.
The Guest of Honour will be the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Ambassador Khamis Kagasheki. Invited guests includes, members of diplomatic corps, UN officials, government officials and the general public.
