May 5, 2009 – Sony Entertainment Television (SET), the general entertainment channel from Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has been added to the DStv Premium and Compact bouquets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
“Launching SET on the Premium and Compact bouquets in Africa is a key milestone in the growth of our networks business,” says Philipp Schmidt, general manager, Africa networks, SPT. “This is an important next step in achieving our key goal of extending SET’s exciting programming line-up – including first-run and award-winning series – throughout the region.

The channel is a unique entertainment channel with a programming schedule that appeals to 18 to 49 year olds. Innovative and critically acclaimed first-run series include The Amazing Race (Wednesdays at 19:30 CAT), the recently debuted Leverage (Thursdays at 20:30 CAT) and the multi-award nominated The Late Show with David Letterman (weeknights at 22:00 CAT). The channel also boasts a wide range of movies (weekends at 20:30 CAT).
