Thami South Africa
Takondwa Zambia
Mimi Ghana
October 2008
The housemates have voted and after Monday’s (October 13) Big Brother Africa 3 nomination show, screened on DStv,
Ghana’s Mimi, Zambian TK and South Africa’s Thami are up for eviction this week.
Morris – Head of House for the second consecutive week – turned down the opportunity to influence the nominations, meaning that the Housemates’ vote stands. Thami received the most votes with 5, while Mimi and TK received 4 each.
For the record, here’s how the Housemates voted:
· Morris’s first vote was for Mimi, because she had yet to feel the pressure of being nominated. “Now she’s in full gear, in high mode… it’s high time she tested the water.” His second vote was for TK - who he saved from nomination last week - because he was “emotionally squashed” by Sheila's departure.
· TK voted for Thami because of his love for pranks. Next, he voted for three-time nominee Ricco, “to see if he is that loved on the outside.”
· Ricco returned the favour by voting for TK first. “He’s playing the game and so am I. I want to see how he behaves if he goes to the glass house. He seems to have a guardian angel in the house,” he said. His second vote – unsurprisingly after Saturday’s altercation - was for Thami.
· Thami voted for Munya and TK, citing the 'ratio issue' again. "There are way too many guys in the house...Morris is the HoH and Ricco has been up too many times. I do like TK but there’s no one else to nominate!”
· It seems that the Housemates’ patience is wearing thin with Thami, as Mimi also picked him because of his passion for pranks. TK got a sympathy vote because of his behaviour since Sheila’s departure. “He is gonna be boring and he’s only going to be unproductive,” she said.
· Hazel voted for Munya and Mimi, having identified them as strong contenders - Munya for his calm nature and ability to navigate around conflict and Mimi because of the loyalty she instils in those around her.
· Munya picked Thami because of his increasingly antagonistic nature. He also voted for Mimi, to “see what Africa thinks of her.”
· Tawana voted for Thami – “I think the House is starting to get to him slowly but surely” – and Mimi because of her insight and knowledge. “I find her very threatening,” she said.
Now it’s up to viewers to decide the fate of the nominated trio – and remember, you’re voting for the person you’d like to see evicted! There are three ways to vote - by sending an SMS, making a call or by voting for free on the website (www.mnetafrica.com/bigbrother).
To vote a housemate by SMS, send the word VOTE followed by the housemate's name to the number for your country. SMS are charged per specified network tariffs in the various countries. VAS rates apply. Free minutes do not apply. (See SMS numbers below).
You can also vote a housemate out by dialling +27839000000 and selecting the number that corresponds to the housemate who you want to evict.
To vote online on the Big Brother Africa website, you must be registered with the OBoma social network. This will allow you to vote once per hour.
Don’t forget that every time you vote, you increase your chances of winning a Sony Playstation 3 gaming console or a Digital Mobile Television handset, courtesy of DStv Mobile. There are just 8 housemates left in the running for the US$ 100 000 prize – who will Africa eliminate next?
