PRESENT A GIFT HAMPER TO THE WINNER OF NOKIA CARE DAY!!

Dar es Salaam, 24, February ….– Nokia- the world’s leading maker of mobile phones- launched an awareness campaign to ward off the influx of counterfeit phones in the country.
The three-day Nokia Care Day campaign saw customers educated on the Nokia warranty as well as taken through the steps for phone software upgrades. New Nokia device software is released on a regular basis, providing
a better battery life, free features, improvements and bug fixes.
The campaign meant to encourage consumers to buy from authentic Nokia outlets with the twelve month warranty, and to avoid counterfeits and grey market products with no local warranty.
Owners of genuine Nokia phones will be allowed to bring in their handsets for a free diagnostic check up and a free browse through the latest Nokia innovative devices available at the retail outlets, as part of the campaign.
The campaign kickek off at Kariakoo in Dar es salaam, and also at Milimani and Coco Beach.
“The rising number of counterfeit phones in the country is a cause for concern for both mobile companies and the government, as unscrupulous traders ride on established brands like Nokia and dupe innocent consumers” said Ms Koki Muia, the Nokia Customer Care Manager, East and Southern Africa.
Speaking during the launch of the campaign, Ms Muia said the consumer was ultimately the loser as the counterfeit phones were of low quality and neither came with a warranty or after sales service. Getting spare parts for the phone was also hard since the traders had not provided for the same.
She said Nokia was pioneering a new era of customer care in the country by educating consumers on how to take care of their phones and use the various applications and tools to their advantage. The care centres countrywide would provide a wide range of service to consumers including product repair, warranty support and software upgrade
