Swahili Fashion week is a platform for designers, both fashion and accessory, from Swahili speaking countries to showcase their creativity, market their art and networking with clients all aimed at Promoting Fashion as an income generating, Job creating industry emphasizing the " Made in Tanzania " patriotism.
The successful Inaugural Swahili Fashion Week 2008 took place on 5 & 6 of November 2008 in Dar es Salaam under the meticulous choreography and direction of Jan Malan Umzingeli (http://www.janmalan.com/) from South Africa . Not only did it showcase Tanzanian Designer and Models but also the Finalist of M’Net Face of Africa 2008.
