UN Representatives mix the cement to be used for the new floor of the class rooms of Ruvuma Primary School in Temeke District.The UN donated 100 bags of cement and five lorries of sand for the new floors.
Students of Ruvuma Primary School greeted the UN staff with joyful singing and dancing.UN staff visited the school on Tuesday, 20 October 2009 as part of UN week activities lined up to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the UN.
From right; UNDP Country Director Alain Noudehou and ILO Country Director Alexio Musindo hand over the first of the 100 bags of cement that the UN donated to Ruvuma Primary School in Temeke yesterday ( 20 October 2009). Receiving is the school's headteacher, Hassan Wenge and Temeke Education Officer, Mary Mumba. The donation was to assist with the repair of ten classrooms floors at the school. The visit to the school was part of UN week activities lined up to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the UN.
